چکیده

The use of microphone arrays for sound pickup in reverberant environments has been proposed by many authors. The observation on the M microphones can be decomposed into a spatially coherent and an incoherent part. The rst one is due to perfect (plane or spherical) sound waves caused by the direct path and specular re ections, whereas the latter is caused by di usion, di raction, non-perfect re ections, electrical and quantization noise. In this paper we rstly present a de ation method to detect and localize spatially coherent waves from the measured impulse responses. In a second step the lters which model the source directivity and the re ecting materials are estimated. The model takes into account near eld delay, range attenuation, microphone and source directivity as well as non trivial re ections.

A microphone position calibration method in a reverberant environment for a randomly distributed array

A microphone position calibration method in a reverberant environment is investigated for randomly distributed large-size array in this paper. The microphone positions need to be known exactly in order to localize sound sources. Time delay estimation (TDE) is an important step in calibrating the microphone positions using a few calibrating sound sources for a randomly distributed array. However...

Doa Estimation with Histogram Analysis of Spatially Constrained Active Intensity Vector

The active intensity vector (AIV) is a common descriptor of the sound field. In microphone array processing, AIV is commonly approximated with beamforming operations and utilized as a direction of arrival (DOA) estimator. However, in its original form, it provides inaccurate estimates in sound field conditions where coherent sound sources are simultaneously active. In this work, we utilize a hi...

Blind directivity estimation of a sound source in a room using a surrounding microphone array

Sound sources in actual environments have no omni-directional feature, but they do have directivity in radiation. It is important to consider the directivity of a sound source when synthesizing a high-definition three-dimensional sound field. Therefore, we propose a simple but novel method to estimate the directivity of a sound source in a reverberant environment using a surrounding microphone ...

PSD estimation in Beamspace for Estimating Direct-to-Reverberant Ratio from A Reverberant Speech Signal

A method for estimation of direct-to-reverberant ratio (DRR) using a microphone array is proposed. The proposed method estimates the power spectral density (PSD) of the direct sound and the reverberation using the algorithm PSD estimation in beamspace with a microphone array and calculates the DRR of the observed signal. The speech corpus of the ACE (Acoustic Characterisation of Environments) C...

Parametric Acoustic Camera for Real-time Sound Capture, Analysis and Tracking

This paper details a software implementation of an acoustic camera, which utilises a spherical microphone array and a spherical camera. The software builds on the Cross Pattern Coherence (CroPaC) spatial filter, which has been shown to be effective in reverberant and noisy sound field conditions. It is based on determining the cross spectrum between two coincident beamformers. The technique is ...
